2017 Summer Reading Club right around the corner

It is that time of the year again, the 2017 Summer Reading Club will be kicking off on June 10, 2017 and will run until August. As in the years past to complete the SRC the participant (babies to adults) need to read 8 books or 8 hours. This years theme is "Build a Better World". We will be having special programs for children every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 pm.  The teen SRC programs will be held during our normal Teen Hangout time (Tuesdays 4-6 pm). Today in Westside Library History: Memorial books, 1979

Five books were donated to the Westside Library in July of 1979 in order to honor the memories of the Cole family, who died in a fire in April. Barbara Cole, who died in the fire, had been part of the board of directors of the Friends of the West Side Branch Library. Read more here: El Paso Times 11 June 1979
