2017 Poetry contest

Contest is open to all school age children in English and Spanish.  Winners and honorable mentions from each branch library will be invited to an awards ceremony. Each invited guests will have an opportunity to read their poems to the audience. All selected poems will be published in an official Poetry Contest booklet. Teachers are welcome to encourage their students to participate. Call 212-3201 for more information or click on this link for entry form

Today in Westside Library History: Memorial books, 1979

Five books were donated to the Westside Library in July of 1979 in order to honor the memories of the Cole family, who died in a fire in April. Barbara Cole, who died in the fire, had been part of the board of directors of the Friends of the West Side Branch Library. Read more here: El Paso Times 11 June 1979
